RiverLife: Almond & Avon

RiverLife Guided Trails

RiverLife’s guided walks will show you some of the best spots around the Almond and Avon for spotting wildlife, experiencing our varied local history, and taking in the natural beauty of our rivers.

River Almond Art Trail

In November 2020 we were delighted to launch three brand new public artworks at sites on the River Almond. See how they were made and how to discover them for yourself.

Almond & Avon Virtual Trails

As everyone is stuck indoors or more locally than normal, we have created two new videos highlighting the wonders of the River Almond & River Avon. Sit back, relax and enjoy a virtual tour of the sites and communities along both rivers.

Resilient Rivers Photography Exhibition

Throughout May 2020 we received loads of wonderful submissions for our Resilient Rivers Photography Exhibition, showing how beautiful the Rivers Almond and Avon can be, and how they can overcome the pressures that are put on them.

Hear a River Story

Listen to a river story on the Almond with a local storyteller.

You don’t know what you’ve got ‘til it’s gone

You don’t know what you’ve got ‘til it’s gone

It might sound a bit dramatic, after all fishing has only been put on hold during “lockdown”, it hasn't gone!!!! Lockdown has made a lot of people think about what is important in life and re-evaluate things. For me it has just emphasised the benefits you get from a...

As part of this project we are keen to build up a picture of how people engage with their local river and what their perceptions are of it. To do this we have created a short, online survey which we hope you can spare a few minutes to complete.
